About Dubai Currents
Dubai Currents is a news website covering Dubai: government and public services, the economy and property, aviation and travel, transport, culture, community and sport. The latest news appears first, so readers can catch up in a minute or read any story in full.
We launched in 2026. The Arabic edition at the root of the site is our main edition. This English edition, under /en/, publishes its own Dubai news for readers who follow the city in English. It is not a word-for-word copy of the Arabic side, so the two will sometimes carry different items at different moments.
How our news is produced
Our desk gathers reports from public official sources and from established news outlets. We then rewrite and summarize them, using automated tools working under editorial standards that people on the desk set and check. The aim is a clear, short account of what happened, what is known so far and what is still open.
- We name the original source of each item, so you can read the original yourself.
- We keep claims modest. If a report says something is expected or alleged, we say so instead of presenting it as settled.
- We do not invent quotes, figures or details that the source did not provide.
Breaking stories can be brief when they first appear and are updated as more is confirmed.
When we got it wrong
Automated tools and fast work both make mistakes. When we find one, or when a reader points one out, we fix the item and say plainly that it changed. A small slip such as a misspelled name is corrected quietly in the text. A change that alters the meaning of a story carries a visible note saying what was altered. If a report turns out to be unsupportable, we withdraw it and explain why.
Independence
Nothing on this site is placed for payment. Sponsors, advertisers and interested parties cannot buy a story, change its wording or its placement. If we ever carry something commercial, it will be labeled as such and kept apart from the news.
