Global Village to host 600-drone Diwali display, five-day festival in Dubai

Dubai’s Global Village will mark Diwali with a five-day programme of cultural events, a festive market and family activities from 6 to 10 November, organisers announced.

A 600-drone show, scheduled for 8 November at 20:00, will light up the sky above the Stunt Arena and Syria Pavilion with formations inspired by the festival of lights.

Drone Show and Musical Gathering

The celebrations will also feature Global Village’s first Baithak, a traditional South Asian musical gathering held in an intimate, seated setting. The event will take place on 6 November from 20:00 to 21:00 at the Main Stage, where visitors can sing along and interact with performers.

On 7 November, visitors can take part in interactive games and win prizes, with City FM collaborating on the organisation.

Festive Market and Children’s Activities

A Diwali Mela, organised in partnership with the India Pavilion, will bring traditional decorations, gifts, snacks and sweets to the Commercial Activation area.

At the Kids Corner, children can try diya colouring, rangoli making and face painting, offering younger visitors a chance to explore the festival’s creative traditions.

Decorative lamp posts will illuminate World Avenue, while ‘Happy Diwali’ signs will provide spots for family photographs.

Culinary Highlights

Food will be another highlight, with visitors able to explore Indian dishes at restaurants including Indian Chef and Grand Dhaba.

The Indian Chaat Bazaar, a food street inspired by Indian wedding celebrations, will serve favourites such as pani puri, chaat, pav bhaji and chole bhature, alongside desi noodles and a selection of mithai.

The Global Village entry ticket includes access to the Diwali experiences. Tickets can be purchased through the destination’s website, mobile app, or ticket counters at the gates.
