Dubai’s Museum of the Future opens recruitment drive for ‘Future Perfects’
By Dubai Currents Staff2 min read
Dubai’s Museum of the Future has launched a recruitment drive for what it calls “Future Perfects”, a role that prioritises curiosity, imagination and emotional intelligence over traditional qualifications and experience. The initiative aims to find individuals who can translate ideas about science, technology and society into engaging human experiences through storytelling and conversation.
The museum described the drive as a world-first, seeking candidates who possess strong communication skills, adaptability and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Selected applicants will join the visitor experience team and help shape a reimagined journey for the museum ahead of its planned reopening in 2027.
Applications are open until 8 November 2026. Shortlisted candidates will undergo live assessments and final auditions before a panel of experts. The process is designed to evaluate qualities not evident on a CV, such as how applicants listen, respond to others and handle unexpected situations.
Role combines guiding and storytelling
The “Future Perfect” role blends guiding, storytelling and conversation. Future Perfects will welcome visitors from various cultures, explain complex concepts in accessible ways and encourage engagement with questions about the future. The museum is looking for natural communicators, attentive listeners and confident problem-solvers who can relate to people of all ages. Previous experience in museums or customer service is not required, opening the door to candidates from unconventional career paths.
Successful applicants are expected to start full-time in November 2026, welcoming international visitors and helping make encounters with ideas about science, technology, nature and society feel personal and relevant. The approach is based on the belief that while technology expands possibilities, human interaction is crucial in helping others understand and experience those possibilities.
Museum’s vision and recruitment philosophy
Azza AlNuaimi, Chief Operating Officer of the Museum of the Future, said the initiative reflects Dubai’s approach to identifying potential and creating opportunities. “Dubai has built its global position by recognising possibilities before they become obvious and creating the conditions for people, ideas and ambition to turn them into reality,” she said.
AlNuaimi said the museum’s vision extends beyond imagining the future, focusing also on the people who will shape it and how visitors can see themselves within it. She added that curiosity, imagination and human connection remain essential as technology evolves. “These qualities cannot be measured by a degree, a job title or years of experience,” she said.
The “Future Perfects” initiative, she added, reflects Dubai’s belief in recognising potential beyond conventional career paths. “We are looking for people who may never have imagined working in a museum yet possess exactly what a museum of the future needs.”
Candidates can apply until 8 November through the official portal at futureperfects.museumofthefuture.ae.
