Dubai Police Break Up Eight‑Person Fake Licence Ring

Arrest of Eight‑Person Licence Fraud Ring

Dubai Police have detained an eight‑member criminal group suspected of issuing counterfeit foreign driving licences to individuals who never visited the issuing country or completed any training or testing.

Details of the Fraudulent Operation

The licences were meant to be swapped for UAE permits under bilateral exchange accords that waive extra exams for genuine foreign licence holders.

The gang allegedly charged Dh10,000 for each licence, exploiting the accords that let eligible foreign licence holders swap for UAE permits without further training or testing.

The operation was uncovered by the General Department of Criminal Investigation of Dubai Police, working together with the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
