Invitation Extended
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has extended a formal invitation to Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, to attend the UN Water Conference 2026. The event is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from 8 to 10 December 2026 and will be co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Senegal.
Letter Delivered in Riyadh
The written message was handed over during a meeting at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh. Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khereiji, Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the letter from Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, the UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Previous Visit Recalled
If the crown prince confirms his attendance, it will mark his first trip to the UAE since a private visit on 1 December 2024. On that occasion, he was welcomed at the airport by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders later met at Al Rawda Palace in Al Ain, where talks underscored the strong fraternal ties between their nations. President Sheikh Mohamed hosted a dinner in honour of Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
