DUBAI: The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2026, now in its milestone 10th edition, began on Saturday with the opening of the DP World 30×30 Fitness Village at Kite Beach. Residents and visitors gathered at the beachfront venue to take part in a wide range of free sporting and fitness activities.
Free Activities for All Ages
The fitness village offers activities including beach volleyball, basketball, boxing, spinning, yoga, Pilates, strength and conditioning sessions, and padel. Organisers said the programme caters to different ages and fitness levels, making it suitable for families, beginners and regular gym-goers alike.
Participants were seen trying combat-inspired workouts, energetic group classes and flexibility exercises during the opening day. The village is designed to help people incorporate 30 minutes of physical activity into their daily routine for 30 days, the core principle of the challenge.
Village Hours and Booking
The DP World 30×30 Fitness Village at Kite Beach runs from 31 October to 29 November. It is open on weekdays from 15:00 to 23:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 07:00 to 23:00. Some facilities, such as padel courts, require advance booking to secure a session.
The challenge was launched in 2017 by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. It aims to make fitness accessible to everyone and encourage healthier everyday habits.
Community Fitness Hubs Across Dubai
Kite Beach is one of three free Fitness Villages set up for this year’s challenge. More than 23 Community Fitness Hubs are also offering activities across Dubai, giving residents opportunities to exercise closer to home. The programme also includes community runs, cycling experiences, outdoor adventures and water activities in Hatta.
Over its first nine editions, the Dubai Fitness Challenge attracted more than 16 million participants. Organisers emphasised that the message behind the challenge remains simple: find an activity you enjoy and make 30 minutes of movement part of your day.
