Dubai gold holds steady ahead of US inflation release

On Wednesday morning, gold prices in Dubai remained steady after easing the previous evening, according to data from the Dubai Jewellery Group. Published Wed 14 Oct 2026, 9:07 AM.

Dubai gold prices open steady

The 24‑karat gold opened at Dh502.0 per gram, with 22‑karat at Dh465.0, 21‑karat at Dh445.75 and 18‑karat at Dh382.0 per gram.

Spot gold was up 0.28 percent at $4,165 an ounce, while silver held steady at $217.6 an ounce ahead of the US inflation data.

Market sentiment and technical outlook

Gold and silver are testing the lower end of their 2026 ranges, yet gold has rebounded from around $3,930, keeping the longer‑term bullish structure intact, according to Forex.com.

Forex.com warned that “A decisive break beneath those lows would change the picture materially, however, weakening the technical case and opening the door to significantly deeper losses.”

Markets are caught between softer inflation signals from crude and increasingly restrictive financial conditions from US Treasury yields, said Razan Hilal, market analyst at Forex.com.

She added that if Treasury yields reverse while oil stays below its September highs, pressure on gold, silver and broader risk assets could begin to unwind.

Analyst commentary and Fed outlook

Ilya Spivak, head of global macro at Tastylive, told Reuters that the movement is not a big shift but a range‑bound trade, noting that holding a range while oil rallies suggests gold is seeking a reason to rise.

He added that if upcoming consumer price index, producer price index and retail sales data show weaker economic momentum, markets may scale back expectations for further Federal Reserve rate hikes this year, which would act as a bullish catalyst for gold.
